I got my first mail parcel from Thailand a few weeks back. I bought my brother a new Nike soccer jersey and it was in great condition. Even the material rocked… Way to go Thailand!

The parcel was delivered faster than the local CPC mail I get! But I’m sure we will get there soon…

This whole eBay thing has me hooked… luv the concept and the more I learn about it the more I want to be involved…

Nerdlingers, Booty-bumpers, and Apple polishers:

As you all know by now Gavin Lobo is soon to celebrate his graduation from Digital Cement and since it is not our custom to send graduates off with cap, gown, and scroll, please taken a moment and join me in a celebratory eulogy. Legend of Gavin’s heroics in working on Kraft, Dell, Autobytel, Bell etc. is no secret so I would like to share with you of his more private aspects not know to many.

Before coming to Digital Cement Gavin was immersed in the Sammy Davis Jr. phase of his celebrity tribute days. He presented himself as a ‘cool cat’ sporting a red velvet jacket, a cheezy moustache, a cigar, and a low-ball of rye whisky. Sammy himself would be speechless and teary-eyed with pride had he been able to experience Gavin ringing out his version of Mr. Lo-Bojangles and while tap dancing the lyrics in Morse-Code. (I knew a man Lo-Bojangles and he’d dance for you… in worn out shoes.)

Unfortunately, all that dancing in ladies heels caused Gavin to get an non-treatable spinal condition which resulted in a severe hunchback, a bulging eyeball, and an evil laugh like Vincent Price. In true Gavin fashion he poured himself into the task of self treating his condition. He read, consulted, asked, and experimented. He opened up his own research facility and called it “The Lo-Boratory.”

Unfortunately the Lo-Boratory was a not very successful since many of the nerdlinger smarty-pantses who worked there were actually away from home for the first time and spent most of their time at the Lo-Boratory downloading porn and chugging daiquiris.

Gavin shut down the Lo-Boratory and disappeared for 3 months. When he resurfaced he returned to the Lo-boratory, slipped, and fell onto a blender full of decomposing leftover strawberry daiquiri. Tragedy struck again and some of the bacteria in the drink caused his whole face to be paralyzed. Ironically it also smoothed out his facial laugh lines and the crows-feet around his eyes. Out of this unfortunate turn, Gavin got an idea and “Lo-Botox” was born. (The name came from Lobo and Detox, which is where he was for the 3 months he was missing in action). Fate would not be so kind to Gavin as he used the secret formula to pay off some gambling debts and missed out on one of the top selling drugs of the new millennium. The one consolation is that Lo-Botox corrected his hunch back and his bulging eye ball nested itself back into the cavity of his orbital bone. (to this date nothing can be done about his evil Vincent Price laugh)

As part of his physical recovery Gavin became very active and actually developed a very progressive exercise routine which he called “Tae Lo-Bo” a mix of boxing, dancing (no women’s shoes this time) and aerobics. Tae Lo-Bo was very effective at shaping the ripped specimen we work with today. He did introduce Tae Lo-Bo to some other people he worked out with, but after his recovery was complete he stopped doing it. Not sure if any of the others have kept-up with it though.

Gavin’s life continued to take many turns and one day he got up and said to himself. “I must find my destiny.” He started out on well traveled familiar roads and soon found himself lost in the midst of a thick jungle. Part of him wanted to turn back but he did not know which was the right way to go. The going was tough, slow, uncomfortable, and uncertain. After much time had passed, he come to clearing and saw a distinct path cut through the forest in front him. Soon after he began down the path, he realized that this path represented the destiny of others who came before him and if he continued forward, he would be more likely find their destiny rather than his own.

While Gavin has been a major contributor here at Digital Cement with very many successes, there were times as our small company grew bigger, when it was challenging, when progress was slow, and outcomes were uncertain. I must say that it has been an absolute pleasure to work with Gavin whether or the path was clear or not, Gavin always brought passion, and commitment and fun to his work. I really do believe that his experiences and work ethic here have prepared him well for the opportunities which lie ahead. I have every expectation that he will be a smashing success in whatever he chooses.

I encourage you to stop by and thank Gavin personally for his hard work and also take a moment to hum a few bars in the spirit of wishing him the best of luck at EBay…
