I was introduced to the “CUP” today and it was another not so friendly recovery apparatus. But I’m told it will help with all that scar tissue, fun stuff. The cuts are healing well and are a bit red from all the work-out they get but once again I’m told this is normal. I can finally flex my leg backward past 90 degrees which also feels like a big goal achieved in week three. Wednesday of this week I go to see my Doctor for my two week appointment and hope to have the brace off sooner than later because I prefer walking without it on.

Overall they were happy with the healing of my cuts and the reduction in swelling around my knee and ankle. The doctor wants me off my crutches and walking as soon as possible.

I have a referral to a Physiotherapist and need to get that booked and set-up for September. The pain still exists and the Doc says it could be various things causing it (I think it’s the screws they have drilled into my tibia and femur to secure the tendon!).

The highlight of the appointment was the removal of my staples – I saw stars even though I had taken two pain killers a hour before. I have never seen a Nurse laugh that much as she was taking staples out… I guess I was saying something to her that was fun or she was just laughing at my weak pain threshold!

Yes it does look like someone wrote “HO” on my knee but rest assured it’s “OH” for Ogilvy Harris the name of my doctor. He does that on the body part that needs to be operated on so that they don’t go all “testicular” by mistake and you wake up with your family jewels missing.

-It’s a given that Star Alliance planes are normally 2 to 3 hours late (Why, why did I try and run on a torn ACL???)

Wooo Hooo! For me – no not really So I wait for the “specialist” to get back to my family doctor with next steps. Next steps could be a simple scope procedure or possibly an operation to rectify the ACL. I am told the specialist will take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks to get back to us with his recommendation – WOW! Physiotherapy has help a lot and most if not all the swelling has finally subsided. Though I am not sure if its going to help much further given that I know the ACL is torn and needs repair. Anyone aware of a really go sports physio (accredited) location in Toronto please feel free to leave me the details.
